Gary Lee Slocum
1934-2016
Gary Lee Slocum passed away in Tucson, AZ on October 20, 2016, at age 82.
Gary was born in Battle Creek, MI, on June 11, 1934, to Lawrence and Cecile Slocum. He graduated from Hastings High School then entered the US Army.
After his military service, Gary worked with sheet metal, was a school teacher, and school Principal. Gary moved to Arizona in 1977.
Gary is survived by his wife Kay. They shared four children, two sons, Mark
(Elizabeth) Slocum and Peter Huber plus two daughters, Michele Slocum, Sharon (Tom) Ingram and several grandchildren.
Gary was involved with activities at church and served as a board member with two Mt. Lemmon organizations. Gary was also a noted woodcarver in Tucson and was active with the Southwest Woodcarvers Association, serving as a Board Member and "go-to" volunteer for just about anything. He could turn any piece of Cottonwood bark into a treasure!
